Buzz Joins HRS
Posted Jan 06, 2016 by: HRSWe are pleased to announce that Buzz Stapczynski has joined the Human Resources Services, Inc. team as a Management Consultant. He brings a wealth of municipal operations knowledge and many years of public sector experience. On June 30, 2015 Buzz retired as the Town Manager of Andover, MA, where he worked for 25 years. In his more than 40-year career span he also served Fairfax County, VA, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and Wilmington, MA.
Buzz served as President of the Massachusetts Municipal Association (MMA) and President of the Massachusetts Municipal Management Association (MMMA). He Chaired the Massachusetts Municipal Management Association’s Future Managers Committee for many years. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Interlocal Insurance Association, Inc. (MIIA). He was on the Governor’s Advisory Council during the Dukakis and Weld Administrations. More recently he participated on Lieutenant Governor Polito’s Special Municipal Focus Group; a strategic group creating innovations for technical grant assistance to local government.
Buzz received his undergraduate degree in Politics from The Catholic University of America in Washington D.C. He received his Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Kansas, known for its strong city management program. He also attended the Harvard University, J.F.K. School of Government Program for Senior Executives in Local Government. Buzz is a 45-year member of ICMA and also a Credentialed Manager; he was recently awarded an Honorary Life Membership for his service to the profession.
Buzz will provide management consulting services in general management and human resources for our public sector clients.
